what colour are your bits?

The person who wrote this is very long winded.  I think that I understand what they are trying to get at but parts of the post seem contradictory.  How is it that there is no colour but viruses are detected by their colour?  Perhaps I was misunderstanding what they meant by colour not existing. I don't know that colour is as important as content but I can see that it could be important with some writing and phraseology.

  1. I think he meant that there is a difference in somethings like music, where I can play a note, and you can play a note, and depending on how we both play it, there will be a slight difference in the way it sounds. With Computer Science, there's no such change. If I write a code that does something, and you write a code that does the same thing, it doesn't matter what we named our variables, we still get the same thing :P

I'm confused at points by the articles too. I went back and reread a lot of it, but as you say, it is kind of long-winded and while I should've, I really didn't give the entire thing a second read-through.

I'm really not trying to seem condescending or like I'm more intelligent because I have a background in CompSci, I just hope I've helped explain it :)
